Health vs Wealth...?

Which is more important for you; health or wealth?

Somebody once asked me this very important question which got me thinking and reflecting on what is important in my life. It also got me to dig deep into my soul and ask myself what I want in life. On the surface level of course you feel that both health and wealth are important to you. But if you had to choose just one, which would you choose? Tough choice, huh.

In this material world many would go for wealth because if you have the money, you can get almost anything that money can buy. Hey, nowadays, even money can buy you love. Who doesn’t want to have a rich boyfriend or girlfriend that would dote on you 24/7? Some would argue that with money you can pay for the best medical care available if ever you get sick or your health deteriorates. But then again, what do you really understand by ‘wealth’? How do you define ‘wealth’? Does having lots of money, big house and fancy cars mean wealth to you? Or having a good family life means wealth to you? The choice is yours!

Now that I’m a year older today (...yes... thank you for the wishes) and wiser too (I hope), my choice... I would definitely look after my health. Why? If you’re healthy, you can always work and make money and live your dream. You can always find money, but you can’t find health. Health is irreplaceable; it’s something that you’re born with so you have to take good care of it. Money can easily be replaced if you lose it, and with good health you can always build your wealth. Once your body succumbs to diseases (diabetes, hypertension, gout ... etc) and your health starts to deteriorates, it’s very difficult for you to regain your health. No matter how much money you have and can pay for the most expensive medical care available, but you’ll never recover your health as before you lost it. Besides that, even if you have the money, who wants to be a regular visitor or ‘guest’ at the hospital anyway? I know I wouldn’t.

Prevention is better than cure! I would rather spend a bit more money now on good and healthy nutrition to ensure my good health that lasts for as long as I live. What about you? Are you taking good, healthy and balanced nutritional food that will restore and improve your health and well-being? With that, I leave you to ponder on this very important quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson ....

“The first wealth is health”

So what are you waiting for? What is keeping you from making that important decision? It’s still not too late to do something about your health. Contact me!!! Maybe I can help you. Here’s my email again coinbox88@gmail.com. To your health... cheers!

Are you part of the statistics?

I'm not going to write much today, just wanna share these sad but true picture of what we have become over the years. I wonder what will happen in the future if we don't take any action and do something about it. I'll let the pictures speak this time...

OMG! What have we been doing to ourselves? How did it get so out of control?

Is this how you want to live your life? Or is this how you want to end your life?

I hope the pictures did speak something to you out there who is still not concerned about their health. Whatever it is ... it's all in your hands! You have the power to decide whether you want to be healthy or be one of the statistics!

If you don't look like any of the people in the picture, don't think that you're in the pink of health ... you might be surprised. The silent killers (diabetes, hypertension, stroke, heart-attack, cancer... etc) are just waiting for the right moment to strike. So, are you going to just let them win or are you going to do something about it?

Micheal Jackson (RIP) once sang a song 'Man in the Mirror'. So start changing the man/woman in the mirror. Contact me for a solution!!! Here's my email again coinbox88@gmail.com. Cheers!

Staying healthy and slim .... Naturally!

You long to get back your svelte figure, but have failed despite many attempts. Why not try these simple and natural ways to become slim and healthy again?

First up, increase your intake of FRUITS and VEGGIES. They are lower in calories, but will still make you feel full. On top of that, it’s full of vitamins and minerals that your body needs. Find out how many calories you should be consuming per day and stick to it!

Secondly, resist the urge to over-eat, so avoid places such as ‘all you can eat’ buffets and fast food joints. There is also no reason to finish all the food on your plate. Take home the left-overs for the next meal. Of course, once a while you can reward yourself by indulging in foods that you love, though with caution and the key is moderation.

Thirdly, when buying food at the supermarket, pay attention to food labels and keep an eye out for unhealthy preservatives, added sugars and fat content. When consumed regularly, these will turn into fat and normally will be deposited on your tummy and bum, thus the pear shape figure that you have been trying forever to work yourself out of.

Fourthly, EXERCISE! If you don’t normally do so, start off with brisk walks around your neighbourhood or running up and down the stairs a couple of times daily. Or sign up for a dance class for a fun-filled activity. It’s also a good way for you to meet people and socialize. If you have children, take the opportunity to exercise with them. This will be the best way for you to spend some time with them playing in the park, going cycling, swimming or just a walk around the neighbourhood. Be creative!

Last but not least, drink plenty of water! Our body is made up of 70% liquid (water, blood), so you need to drink lots of water to keep it healthy and hydrated. On average, doctors recommend that we drink at least 8 glasses or 2 litres of water daily. Always carry a bottle of water with you everyday wherever you go especially if you live in hot climates and work in an air-conditioned room. It has to be plain water, NOT coffee, tea or colas. Your body will dehydrate as much as 5 cups of water with just 1 cup of coffee. So think again!

Life sure is great when you look and feel great!

But... if you think doing all these is too much for you, then I may have a solution. For people who hate exercise or finding it too tedious and cumbersome to think about and count the calories of their food, or don't really wanna bother with looking at food labels when buying food at the supermarket, then contact me for an all natural alternative solution that will keep you healthy, slim and energetic but allowing you to still enjoy your favourite food.

Anti-aging from the Inside Out

We all know the routine. We work hard. We play hard. We make lists of what has to be done right now. What’s not on the list? Taking care of yourself. We always forget to take care of ourselves because we are too busy taking care of other people ... our family, our work, our boss ... and the list goes on. Too often we skip a doctor’s visit or ignore symptoms because we’re just too busy. And that’s a big mistake, maybe even a fatal one. This goes for both male and female.

There are a multitude of products targeted to maintain that youthful glow, but why not start the anti-aging process from within? Free radicals, which are unstable molecules, can wreak havoc on the body, causing serious problems like osteoporosis, cancer and heart disease. As we age, we become more prone to the damaging effects of free radicals.

Antioxidants, found in several types of foods and nutrients, can combat the negative effects of free radicals. Thus, it is recommended that you increase your daily intake of:

· Fruits and vegetables – rich in antioxidants
· Fatty fish – high in omega-3
· Whole grains – soluble fibres reduce cholesterol levels
· Nuts – maintain skin’s structural integrity
· Yoghurt – increases good bacteria in the gut
· Water – for hydration

Wow... all that to be taken daily? How is that possible? We are busy people, sometimes we don’t have the time.

So, how can we ensure the intake of optimum nutrients daily for us to combat free radicals?

There is a way and it’ll not just ensure that you get your daily nutrients that your body needs to combat free radicals, but it’ll help you stay healthy, gives your energy and keeps you in good shape.

Starting Your Day ...

Deliciously, Healthily and Nutritiously...!

You wake up in the morning; get yourself ready for work or school and then you rush out the door without even taking a glass of milk. Have you ever wondered how it feels like starting your day at work or school feeling attentive, as if it’s the greatest day you’re having? The secret to a great day starts with having the right breakfast.

Breakfast is important!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Why? As our body fasts during our sleep, the glucose level goes lower without food for 8-12 hours. So, our body is hungry for food and nutrition after fasting the whole night through. Therefore, it is crucial that the first meal of the day that you take is healthy and nutritious because your body will absorb all the nutrients very quickly to help cell renewal and organ function.

We obtain our energy to start the day from good, healthy and nutritious breakfast. The right breakfast will not only provide energy to the brain, but also help us to stay mentally alert and perform better at work or school. Studies have shown that by taking nutritious and healthy breakfast every day, it heightens your sense of well-being, boosts your energy and increases your attention span. Now wouldn’t that be a good start for your day?

Think about the breakfast that you had this morning and for the past one week ... are they well-balanced, nutritious and healthy? Do they contain all the vitamins and minerals that your body needs daily?

So, what is the right breakfast that is healthy and nutritious for you?

Seize the Opportunity!

Dear All...

OUT of a job? Recently got RETRENCHED? Or just looking for an OPPORTUNITY to make some extra money? NO WORRIES!!!

I’m here to share with you an opportunity for you to take charge of your life, work hard at achieving your dreams and make lots of money while at it and once you’re successful you can ‘fire’ your boss before they fire you and be your own boss. How does that sound? Good, huh!

There are lots of opportunities out there for you to make money and live your dream. I’ve looked at all kinds over the years but couldn’t find one that can convince me that I can make it, until now. At the age of 36, I finally found something that can make me live my dreams and fire my boss at the same time. Wow ... that long! Why didn’t I find this sooner? And I’m sharing this with you so you too can do the same.

My suggestion to you is this ... don’t wait too long to act. Slowly start working your way to financial freedom now so you have enough income to actually say goodbye to your day job and be your own boss when the time comes.

Contemporary Obsession

Dear All...
Walk, drive or go around KL and PJ, you’ll see how people are so obsessed with beauty and health. This we can see through the mushrooming of the various slimming centres, health and beauty spas, and fitness centres all around KL and PJ. About 10 – 15 years ago, there were only a few slimming centres, fitness centres and health and beauty spas that we can see whenever we go around KL and PJ. Back then all these wellness centres are located mainly in 5 star hotels and only those elite few with money to splurge would frequent these places as a social meeting spot.

The wellness and beauty industry has grown tremendously in the last decade. People are more concerned about their health and beauty; they want to live longer to enjoy the fruits of their labour and they have more money now to pay for gym and spa membership than they did before. Various types of membership packages are being offered at attractive rates to lure in more members. Centres are also bigger and are equipped with various facilities to attract people from all walks of life to become members; from housewives to professionals.

But these centres are not just places for people to exercise, workout and work on their health and beauty, they also function as a place where people could meet and socialize after a long day at work. Going to the gym, spa or slimming centre after work has become a trend and a lifestyle for many people nowadays. It’s a place where people can de-stress themselves by working out a sweat through all kinds of wellness program and contemporary exercise classes, as well as de-stressing yourself by getting manicure, pedicure, facials or massages.

But what amazes me is that despite the various health and wellness centres around, people still consume lots of nonsense and food that tastes good but lack any value in terms of nutrition. You spend thousands of ringgit on fitness centre membership, but still eat foods which are rich in fat and sugar that are not nutritious at all. So the cycle continues. You go to the gym or health centre after work for an hour or so to burn off the calories from the ‘nasi lemak’ and ‘teh tarik’ you had this morning as well as the fast food burger and soft drinks that you had for lunch, then after the workout at the gym you go off to dinner, maybe with friends and had a big helping of biryani rice with fried chicken and beef korma.

Then for supper you had a portion of ‘roti canai banjir’ at the ‘benteng’ somewhere nearby your house. You go home to sleep on a full stomach. So, you burn about 1200 calories at the gym after work but add about another 2000 calories during dinner and supper after that. And you store the fat in your body by going to bed after a meal. No wonder, you didn’t lose any weight!!! The workout at the gym gave you a bigger appetite and didn’t help you in losing the weight and the body fat. On top of that, you get so engrossed in work at the office that you forget to drink water, which is supposed to help you lose the weight and keep you healthy by cleansing your internal organs and keeping you well hydrated. Furthermore, the food that you eat does not have any nutritional value at all...mostly fat and sugar! Sounds familiar?

No doubt that exercise is good for your health and well being, as it helps to burn calories, gets your blood circulation going and your heart pumping. But all this will go to waste if you don’t take care of what you eat. A combination of a healthy and balanced nutrition, exercise and water is best in helping you lose the body fat and keep you healthy. How do you do that? Most of the foods that you eat out there are lacking in nutritional value, but you work from 9 to 5 and therefore don’t have enough time to go home and cook for yourself, which is why it is easier to eat out than eating in.

So, what can you do about it? How can you lose weight and body fat, be healthy and re-shape your body at the same time? How can you ensure that your body gets the required nutrition that it needs daily to keep you healthy? How can you maintain the weight and keep the fat off once you’ve reached your ideal weight but still get the required nutrition that your body needs daily? How can you make sure that your internal organs are clean so absorption of nutrients is possible? Is there a solution that can address these worries?

YES...there is !!!
